Hot 2013 Trends in Engagement Parties

He is nervous. She is unaware. He proposes. She agrees. And the two engage, embarking on a blissful, long journey called marriage. Though, only engaged still, this moment of approval is equally emotional for both - the would-be bride and groom as well. When something is so close to the heart, it surely calls for a celebration. A celebration worthy of being shared with your near and dear ones.
So when the two have finally come close to start a new combined chapter, never-done-before engagement party ideas is the most that you’ll seamlessly search for. Let go of the mundane, usual party themes that one normally sees around. Add a little zing to them. And let the people uniting in your celebration be more than just spectators, let them be partakers.

1. Turn fellowship into a Charity Event
When the couple is well-to-do, they both can devote their celebrations to a charitable cause. When you do so the guests are also inspired in a way; plus include the blessings and goodwill showered upon the couple. There are many options to choose from. Spending a day at a daycare, donating to the food bank, gathering funds probably in the locality or town; and so on.

2. Wine Tasting/ Cocktail Party
If good food equally excites the would-be bride and groom, holding a gourmand engagement party is a good idea. But since, we all are rising to the occasion of a beloved union we can merit the drinks more. Wine tasting and cocktail party themes make for an ideal theme for the gastronomes. Besides, wine is always elicited with class and chicness. A winery would deem a suitable place, in that case.

3. Scrapbooks
Scrapbooks have always been a special way of showering love and wishes. As such one can incorporate the same on a grandiose level. Have a Polaroid camera handy (a photographer for same will do) and a table with few stickers, markers and other fancy items. Let the creative juices flow and let guests scribble, draw or stick onto a big scrapbook supplied by you.

4. Costume Ball
Its Prom night all-over-again. But not necessarily. Costume balls give a wider choice of dressing themes to be selected from. Have a ball night, or the chic 50’s & 60’s era. Go for the Victorian style or choose the Louis XIV Versailles reign. Also, a Hollywood premier night is a great idea for a costume ball. Couples could be conveyed to dress-up as famous Hollywood celebs.

5. Outdoors/ A botanical Garden
Outdoors deem best for a pleasant evening party. Especially, this theme is popular with rooftop locations. A rooftop sitting and dining area is much appreciated by all, under the starry sky and amidst the breezy waves. A French-esque style of dinner, on a rooftop, compliments the best. The entire ambience can be made swanky, posh with right decorations.

6. A Beach
Because engagements are just a prelude to the weddings, they can allow the couple as well the guests to have some reposeful time off. Beaches make for very enviable party destinations, where the winds sweep past the hair and the sands cling to the barefoot, whilst the waters gushing back in the background. Short and sweet.

7. Old Theatrical Style
Movie buffs sure know what the above headline means. Yes, you could rent an old theatre  for a night and treat yourselves with one of the favorite oldies, of course, with foods & drinks. Here, the icing on the cake would mean showing the guests a short video shot on the couple’s story itself. This would make for an extraordinary engagement party, remembered for many years.
